Description |
In the mid-1950s, Argus sold a set of manufacturing dies to Hanimex in Australia, who manufactured the Argus Seventy-Five under license. The Australian models are identical to the American models except for the "made in Australia" marking on the taking lens. There were a couple of minor design variations among the Australian Argus Seventy-Fives, mostly in the color of the film wind knob and shutter release. Black was standard, but on a few models, they were red. One version, never produced in the United States, featured an internal mask that could alter the output from twelve 6x6 cm images to sixteen 6x4.5 cm images. This variant also had two red windows on the back for counting either set of exposure. Australian Argus Seventy-five. Silver and black with red winding knob and shutter release. Sides are black, and ribbed. Middle is silver, with writing in black. Top has silver door which opens to large viewfinder. Top has argus trademark. Cloth strap. |
