Title |
Argoflex EM - Early Variant |
Object Name |
Camera, Twin Lens Reflex |
Place of Origin |
Ann Arbor, MI |
Date |
1948 |
Description |
Like the Argoflex II, the Argoflex EM was made of die-cast aluminum with the nameplate molded into the body. However, the automatic film wind mechanism was absent from the EM. The taking and viewing lenses were the same 75mm f:4.5 versions as the Argoflex Model E, although some very early Argoflex EM models have been reported as having f:3.5 viewing lenses. Early examples of the Argoflex EM had the same bright-line trim strip as the Argoflex II. This could have been an attempt to use up trim stocks in favor of an all-black body. Otherwise, early and late versions are identical. The Argoflex EM originally sold for $64.40. |
