Description

The Argoflex Model was out for only about three months before it was superseded by the Argoflex 40 and its name variant, Argus 40, which were identical to each other except for the nameplate on the front of the camera and the film wind knob. The Argus 40 had a black knob while the Argoflex 40 had a chrome knob. Both were identical to the Argus Model except for having strap lugs molded into the body.
Both cameras had the Argus logo on the viewing hood reversed out of a black square, just as on the Argus Model. There are variants that have the logo reproduced in black on the chrome finish of the viewing hood. "Forty" was spelled out on the front bezel of the viewing lens.
